Student of the month : Matteo

We have interviewed our lovely student Matteo about his experience in London and at ABC School of English. We have learnt his opinion about the school and the city and we have got to know him better. Thank you for taking the time to do the interview,

• Could you please tell me something about yourself: studies, job, hobbies, and dreams?

I have a degree in mechanical engineering and I’m still a student. I usually work in a seaside hotel restaurant as a waiter in summertime. My favourite “hobby” is eating, and I also enjoy watersports, such as surfing, stand up paddle-boarding, diving and so on. I hope to find a job related to what I have studied.

• Why did you decide to come to London?

I needed to improve my English because I would like to enter an English university in Italy, so what better choice than London? Also, London has fascinated me for many years.

• How do you find life in London?

Well, London is so expensive. However, it’s exciting and full of things to do. Here you find people from all over the world, that have changed a lot the way I see everything. That’s what I have liked most.

• Why did you choose ABC school?

I had heard about Callan Courses, so I was just looking for them and I found this school with competitive prices. Then I thought that it could be a nice place to start something new. Now I’ve been studying here for 5 months.

• What’s your opinion of the Callan Method/ our General English course?

The first impression of a Callan Method lesson is just: “Oh, that’s weird. Why am I here?”. But after one/two weeks of it you start to change your mind and realize that it’s extremely useful and you can’t imagine how many words and phrases you can learn in such little time. What’s more, all the teachers are great.

• What are your plans for the future?

Now I just want to take the IELTS exam, go back to my country and enter that university to carry on with my studies. Ok Matteo, thank you for your time! Thank you very much!
