Silvia Strano
We have interviewed our new intern Silvia who started working with us in December. Could you tell us a bit more about yourself? I am Silvia, I am a 19-year-old Italian girl. I attended “Liceo Scientifico Oppido Mamertina” and I graduated in July 2016. I love riding my horse and I have 5 dogs. I am friendly and I love listening to music, travelling and visiting new places. Why did you choose London? How long have you lived here for? Do you like it so far? I came to London to improve my English and to visit this city because it’s big and very beautiful. I will be here four months and I like London very much because it’s a dynamic city. There are some places to visit and many activities to do. I am very happy to be staying here! What three things would you recommend doing in London? The best of London is Big Ben, London Eye and Tower Bridge, the symbols of the city. I recommend going to Covent Garden and Oxford Street because there are big shops. In addition, I suggest walking to Primrose Hill Park, it’s very beautiful and for relaxing for lunch with friends; I also suggest going to British Museum, Madame Tussauds, National Gallery and London Zoo. And finally don’t forget Camden Town, a crazy place! Is this internship your first experience abroad? How do you feel about it? Yes, this is my first job experience abroad, but I have already worked last summer in Sardinia (Italy) in the Resort Valle Dell’Erica as a receptionist. I miss my family and my friends very much but this is a good opportunity for my future because it will help me to grow professionally and improve my English. Why do you think you will benefit from doing this internship? I think this internship is a good opportunity for me in the future to help me get more jobs. This will help me to improve my IT skills and writing emails in English, but I am also learning to provide people with information about this school. In addition, Erasmus is a good opportunity to learn to stay away from home for a long time and being confronted with another culture and people. What is your plan after the internship? I plan to study Languages and work in Italy. Would you recommend this experience to young people like you? Yes, I recommend this experience because it helps you to learn more. silvia-strano
