Maria was chosen as the student of the month in June!

Maria is attending the Callan Method English course and is currently at intermediate B1 level. We have interviewed her about her experience in London and at ABC School of English. Thank you for taking the time to do the interview!

Could you please tell me something about yourself?

My name is Maria Paola, I am from Italy and I am a professional beauty therapist of 10 years. I would like become a skin care therapist and would like to help people, giving an advice how to take care of their skin. My dream is to be fulfilled and satisfy with my life. I love traveling, discovering new places and getting to know new people. I am also a really curious person, I am interested what is around me!

Why did you decide to come to London?

I've decided to come to London after working as beauty therapist in a 5 star environment during the summer season. I realized that if I would like to work in Italy for a good company I would have have more opportunities if I know English better. I also needed a big change in my life, it was a big step, but it was necessary!

How do you find life in London?

Life in London is FAST and BUSY!!! Sometimes at the end of the day I would like to add some hours because I think there is never enough time! London is a big city and every time I have to go somewhere I spend a lot of time travelling with a bus or the tube!!!! For me one year in London is like two years of my life in Italy!

Why did you choose ABC school?

I chose ABC School because the school had the best reviews, students haven't left just the stars, but all of them left a real feedback! So I thought "If they left a comment in English is because they learned how to write and speak in English during the course"

Are you enjoying your lessons?

I am really enjoying the Callan Method lessons, sometimes during a day I use words that I have learnt at the school during a week and I am always surprise how natural this is, all happening so easy.

What are your plans for the future?

I have lot of plans for my future, but with this Covid situation I learnt to live day by day! I hope to be able to plan my next travel soon, discover new places and see my family soon!
