Hiroko was chosen as the student of the month in August!

Hiroko is attending the Callan Intensive English course and is currently at upper intermediate B2 level. We have interviewed her about her experience in London and at ABC School of English. Thank you for taking the time to do the interview, we have learnt so much about you!

Could you please tell me something about yourself: studies, job, hobbies, and dreams?

I came to the UK to aim to study English and the Montessori method, which is an education for young children. I used to be a receptionist at the Kabukiza theatre in Japan. My hobbies are cooking, listening to music. I’m a big fan of punk/emo music. I used to play the drums when I was a teens; I also like the Japanese tea ceremony. I’d been learning it for 10 years and have a license to teach.

Why did you decide to come to London?

I’ve been meaning to try to live in another country and I love the UK culture. Also my sister used to live in London for 4-5 years before, so I was interested too.

How do you find life in London?

I enjoy living in London!!!!! I went to many places for tourists.

Why did you choose ABC school?

I’d been learning the Callan Method since last year online when I was in Japan, so I wanted to continue the method because I think this method suits me. Also my agent highly recommended me the ABC school!!

Are you enjoying your lessons?

Of course I am! I’m sure my listening is getting so much better now!!

What are your plans for the future?

I’m moving to Oxford from September and will be studying English for IELTS and of course general English too. And I’m going to move back to London next April and then I’d like to study about the Montessori method from September 2022.
