Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is the most important and the longest holiday in China. It’s the busiest season for Chinese mothers as well. They go to the Lunar New Year Market, which is extremely crowded, to buy gifts and food for a sumptuous family dinner and to prepare for the practice of Chinese ancestor worship. Children help their parents to clean the house and decorate the home with bright red banners to bring good luck. People go to the banks to exchange new money for red envelopes, which are called 'hong bao' in Chinese, before heading home for a family dinner.
At ABC School we will celebrate Chinese New Year with colorful decorations prepared by our Chinese speaker receptionist Judy! Curious? Come to reception during the celebrations and find out your Chinese zodiac sign.

This month we have created a new category: The country of the month. We have interviewed one of our student, Narjes from Bahrain to learn more about her country, her culture. Read her interview to know more about this beautiful country!
We have interviewed our lovely student Maria about his experience in London and at ABC School of English. We have heard his opinion about the school and London, and have also got to know him better.
The stunning Kew Gardens orchid festival is kicking off on the 10th February and will be running until 11th March. The celebration of this delicate bloom will feature colourful floral displays, including an orchid tunnel and orchid-covered arches, plus a celebration of all things Thai. We reckon it’s the perfect way to de-stress after a hectic start to the year..
