We have interviewed our Callan Method teacher Nik Murphy about his experience in teaching English at ABC School of English. We have learned his opinion about the school and we have got to know him better.
  • Could you tell us a bit more about yourself: hobbies, interests, dreams?
I am a keen sportsman and aspiring musician. I have played football and rugby in the past but now I just keep fit. I love all kind of music. My short-term dreams revolve around travelling.
  • Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I decided to become a teacher because TEFL provides an excellent platform to live abroad and work whilst also gaining professional experience.
  • Do you speak any other languages?
I like to think I can speak Spanish. I can get by with the basics but wish to drastically improve.
  • How was your experience in learning different languages?
I have studied both Italian and Spanish in good environments. Some have stayed with me after all these years.
  • Could you please give some tips on how to get most of Callan Method lesson?
Commit your attention for the whole 50 minutes and follow the language even when not answering.
  • What do you like the most in ABC School of English?
Friendly, welcoming team. Great location.
  • Travel experience and teaching experience?
I have little teaching experience other than my training. Most recently I have travelled around South East Asia. I have also been to Australia, several parts of Europe and across the Atlantic.
  • What is your favourite motto?
Don’t cry over spilt milk.
