We have interviewed our lovely Callan Method student Takuma about his experience in London and at ABC School of English. We have learnt his opinion about the school and the city and we have got to know him better. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview,
  • Could you please tell me something about yourself: studies, job, hobbies, and dreams?
Now, I am a third-year student at a Japanese university studying international studies, international tourism, issues of developed countries and religion. After I graduate from university, I want to be an airport or travel agency staff. I also want to use English in my future jobs. I like to play guitar and travel in my spare time.
  • Why did you decide to come to London?
Actually, I had studied Malaysian and English for 3 years in Malaysia. It was good, but I realised at that time that I wanted to study REAL ENGLISH in an English-speaking country. I also used to speak American English for a long time. Therefore, I wanted to know another type of English, and that means BRITISH ENGLISH. This is the reason why I’m here.
  • How do you find your life in London?
Basically, I like to spend my time visiting museums and hanging out with my school friends. Museums in London are my favourite because they are free! In Japan, we have to pay a lot of money for entry, so I enjoy museums in London. It is also a good chance for me to try to speak English with native speakers. Every day is special and fresh. The location is very good and it is a school of a smaller scale. I prefer small classes; I can get involved in lessons when classes are small. Actually, we cannot get the opportunity to speak English in Japan. Although we know a lot of vocabulary and grammar and we can write and read in English we also need speaking skills. Callan Method is the best way for Japanese people because we get the chance to speak and finally we can get some key words during the class. So that’s why I chose the Callan Method.
  • What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I am going to continue studying English as much as possible. Because English is a piece of my body now. OK Takuma, thank you for your time! Thank you very much!
