London cheap
As we all know, London is not the cheapest of cities to live in. In fact one of the most common complaints of the visitors to this city is how expensive it is to stay here. There are, however, a lot of ways to enjoy this amazing city without spending a lot of money. Here are some tips:
  1. Getting around
As you may have noticed public transport is not as cheap in London as it is in other major cities around Europe. With this in mind, I recommend walking as much as possible. The centre of London is very walkable and not only is this a great way to explore the city but it is a fantastic form of exercise saving you from having to buy an overpriced membership at a gym in the process.
  1. Free London
One of the very best things about London is that most of the museums and galleries in the city are free. There are so many that are worth checking out but I especially recommend Tate Modern, National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum and British Museum. There are also many free events that happen across the city on a daily basis. I recommend picking up a free copy of Time Out magazine every Tuesday as it lists all the things going on in the city over the coming week.
  1. Eating out
Restaurants in London can be quite pricey but again there are ways of eating out “on the cheap”. Voucher sites like Groupon, Livingsocial and Wowcher.co.uk offer some great deals on some top restaurants. Wetherspoon pubs also offer good value and authentically British meals. Just don’t expect them to be too healthy! Check back soon for some more tips on how to get the most out of London without “breaking the bank”.
