We are happy to introduce you Anna Reilly, one of our Callan Method teachers.Hi Anna,Could you tell us a bit more about yourself: hobbies, interests, dreams? Before becoming an English teacher I trained to be a journalist and worked in PR; so obviously I am quite noisy and enjoy keeping up with the news. In my spare time I love to cook and travel and would love the chance to visit India in the future to combine my passion for travel and curry. I am also trying to learn knit but am not doing very well at the moment! Why did you decide to become a teacher? I had wanted to retrain as a teacher for several years before. I finally took the chance and did it. I loved the idea of every day being different and the feeling of pride and satisfaction when you see student succeed. How long have you been teaching English for? I have been a teacher for just over a year. I absolutely love it, and I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done. What is your teaching philosophy? My teaching philosophy is that if you are very happy, your students will be happy. I want my students to have fun and enjoy learning English, this makes them more engaged and more likely to use the language outside the classroom. Could you please give some tips on how to get the most of a Callan Method lesson? A Callan lesson is what you make it. Listen to the teacher and try to focus on pronunciation. Callan is fast but try to relax. We promise we don’t bite! What do you like the most in ABC School of English? Obviously the staff are wonderful, but seriously there is a friendly atmosphere and every day is different. We change classes every hour so there is no chance to get bored, it is always dynamic and I love that.
